Meet Angela: Teen Educational Coach
A steady hand in a high-pressure time.
With over 25 years working in adult education and further learning in Ireland, Angela has spent her career in rooms where the traditional system wasn't working for people. She built More Than Points because she knew there had to be a better way to support teenagers and families through the chaos of the Leaving Cert years.
Her approach is grounded, practical, and deeply human. She doesn't tell families what to do. She helps them figure out what they actually want — and then helps them build a path towards it. From Leaving Cert navigation to alternative pathway planning, the work is always person-led.
Areas of Focus
25 years of experience across further education, curriculum design, adult learning, and one-to-one coaching.
The Approach
"The pressure of the points system often masks the potential of the person. My role is to peel back that pressure and find the path that actually fits — not the one that looks best on paper."
Non-judgmental and calm
No pressure, no performance goals. Just honest conversation in a space where teenagers — and parents — can say what they're actually feeling.
Person-led, not system-led
The young person's strengths, values, and instincts lead the way. Angela's job is to help them hear themselves more clearly.
Practically focused
Every session ends with something actionable — whether that's a question to sit with, a conversation to have, or a concrete next step to take.
Who I work best with
Feeling Lost
Young people who have disconnected from school but haven't lost their spark — they just can't see where to put it.
High Achievers Under Pressure
Students who are performing well but quietly crumbling — driven by fear rather than purpose.
Worried and Unsure
Parents who love their child deeply but feel out of their depth — and know that pushing harder isn't working.
At a Crossroads
Families who feel stuck between what the system expects and what would actually be right for their teenager.
